Eid al-Adha, which means ‘Festival of Sacrifice’ in Arabic, is a Muslim celebration that is meant to recognise Ibrahim’s loyalty and obedience to Allah above all others. This is the time muslims perform the Hajj pilgrimage. They also conduct qurbani (sacrifice), which is considered to symbolise unconditional love and faith towards Allah. It is known that Eid al–Adha is known as the Festival of Sacrifice because of Ibrahim’s actions. Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha where they pray and listen to a sermon at a mosque. It is a sign of gratefulness by the Muslims. It happens 3 weeks after Eid ul-Fitr. The festival of Eid is incomplete without some mouth-watering dishes.
