Bing Wallpapers
The catch? You have to connect to the Bing app on Facebook. Whether you’ve connected your Facebook account to Bing or not, the download button will show up in the bottom-right (as long as you’re in the U.S.). When you click it, you’ll be prompted to log in to Facebook and allow the Bing app access to your Facebook account. Once you’ve done that, the download button will start working. For now, you can only download today’s homepage image. When you scroll back to past images, the button is grayed out.
What Does the Bing Facebook App Do?
If you are worried that you are selling your soul for a Bing wallpaper, don’t be. The Bing app isn’t any more intrusive than any other major Facebook app. And you can always remove it.
The Bing app requires permission to access your photos, posts in your news feed and photos shared with you.
Once you’ve connected your Facebook account to Bing, you’ll get a sidebar in your Bing search results that show suggestions from your Facebook friends. It could be useful, I guess, though I am not sure how accurate it is. (If you asked me what my friend Gary’s favorite musician was, I would never have guessed Eminem.)
Is there a way to download the Bing image without connecting through Facebook? Not that we know of…yet anyway. But if we find a way, we’ll be sure to share it with you! Comment Name * Email *
