Facebook started the invite only-beta testing for Collab app in early May this year, and since then, the app has seen a few upgrades, including including audio syncing and the use of external audio interfaces. Announcing the public availability of Collab, the NPE team of Facebook said that they had worked closely with the beta test community to make updates to the creation, sharing, and discovery of new collabs. Audio syncing is one of the improvements that will help users adjust their recordings to be aligned with others in the collab. “Collab automates the complexity of audio and video syncing so you can easily produce a final composition you love,” said the NPE team in an official statement. Facebook also clarified that users don’t need any musical training or experience to use the app. To create a collab using the Collab app by Facebook, users will have to simply swipe on any row to bring in a new video clip that could sound good with the composition. Quite similar to its rival in functioning, the Facebook app however allows users to sync three videos in landscape mode simultaneously, resulting in a final, vertically-oriented video that can be shared on the platform. Facebook has worked diligently to optimise the experience for loads of setups after testing with several headsets and hardware configurations since its beta launch. Users can now even use external audio interfaces to bring music from electronic instruments such as keyboards, guitars, and drum kits into their recordings. Stay tuned to this space for latest news.
