A Badge App Icon is a number in a red circle that appears at the top-right corner of an app icon. It indicates that there is some number of notifications available for you to read. However, some people don’t like these icons, and would prefer that they not display there. One way to do this is by reading those notifications in the app, but a more effective long-term solution is to simply disable the Badge App Icon for the app. Our tutorial below will show you how.
How to Turn an App’s Badge App Icon On or Off With an IPhone 7
The steps in this article were written using an iPhone 7 Plus in iOS 10.3.3. Note that the badge app icon for each app is controlled individually, and that the badge app icon can mean different things for different apps. For example, the badge app icon for the Mail app indicates the number of unread emails. However, a badge app icon for the Settings app means that you have an iOS update available to install. Step 1: Open the Settings menu.
Step 2: Select the Notifications option.

Step 4: Touch the button to the right of Badge App Icon to turn it off.
